The Former BBC Site Manchester
On the former BBC site in Manchester’s city centre, a new chapter unfolded with the creation of Circle Square, an innovative neighbourhood on Oxford Road. Positioned at the heart of Corridor Manchester, one of the UK’s leading innovation districts, Circle Square featured two striking office buildings and a subterranean retail space, forming part of the first phase of a visionary masterplan.
FCBStudios, in collaboration with landscape architects Planit, designed a masterplan centred around a new park for Manchester. This high-density, mixed-use development reopened one of Manchester’s most significant sites, providing over 2.5 million square feet of residential and commercial space around a vibrant green square, creating a welcoming neighbourhood for all.
BREEAM Excellent Workplace
The collaborative and connected office spaces of 1 and 2 Circle Square are a vibrant new neighbourhood for digital and tech businesses in the heart of Manchester’s innovation district.
The 14 and 17-storey office buildings, 1 and 2 Circle Square, were designed as dynamic hubs for digital and tech businesses. Offering 400,000 square feet of adaptable, BREEAM ‘excellent’ rated office space, they included coworking, serviced, and managed areas, fostering collaboration and innovation.
