Cambridge Street Collective Foodhall Market
In the heart of Sheffield, a visionary development unfolds, blending the city’s rich heritage with sustainable innovation. The redevelopment of this site was a collaboration between Sheffield City Council and Queensberry and the new residents? They are Cambridge St. Collective whose aim is to provide a platform for talented and innovative chefs to bring authentic street food from across the globe to the diverse communities of the UK. Europe largest authentic foodhall market now breathes new life into the area while respecting its historical fabric. Next door is Elshaw House, a low-carbon office space, offers 70,000 sq ft of modern workspace, crowned by a south-facing roof terrace.
of Sheffield, for Sheffield
Sheffield Conservation
The Cambridge Street frontages tell the story of this area of Sheffield over the past 200 years, including the Grade II Listed Bethel Sunday School.
The work includes the conservation of the street-facing fronts of two of the oldest buildings on the site, which date from the early 19th Century. These have been enclosed at their rear with an industrial-style new-build structure, housing the food hall, restaurant and rooftop bar to create much-needed social spaces within the city. The existing Bethel Chapel building has been sympathetically renovated, with plans for it to become a live entertainment venue.
